On the evening of December 23, the 3rd China Broadcasting and Hosting “Golden Voice Awards” ceremony was grandly held in Changsha. As a national-level government award approved by the Central Government, organized by the National Radio and Television Administration, and undertaken by the China Television Arts Committee, the “Golden Voice Awards” represent the highest honor in China’s broadcasting and hosting industry.
The grand event was broadcast live simultaneously across multiple satellite TV channels—including Hunan TV, Beijing TV, Jilin TV, Dragon TV (Shanghai Media Group), Jiangsu TV, Zhejiang TV, Shandong TV, and Hubei TV—as well as major online platforms such as Mango TV, iQiyi, Youku, Tencent Video, Migu, Bilibili, and Douyin, achieving nationwide coverage and universal public access.
To ensure high-quality and efficient distribution of the live broadcast signal, the organizers deployed Science Image’s STUDIO2 multi-functional codec. This device reliably converted 4K and HD-SDI signals into optical signals, which were then transmitted in real time—without any loss—via fiber-optic links to multiple critical endpoints, including screening rooms and VIP lounges. At each destination, the same STUDIO2 units precisely converted the optical signals back into HDMI 2.0 signals for output to large-screen displays. This end-to-end workflow enabled seamless interoperability across regions, resolutions, and interface types, ensuring that all departments could simultaneously monitor the broadcast in their respective resolution environments—with crystal-clear video, low latency, and no interruptions.

The STUDIO2 employs a cutting-edge global hardware architecture combining FPGA and SoC, featuring high-bandwidth NDI encoding/decoding alongside concurrent SDI baseband signal processing. This enables simultaneous operation of NDI encoding, up/down/cross conversion, interface conversion, and optical transmission—ensuring stable performance and excellent synchronization even in highly complex environments.
Previously, the device was deployed in the live broadcast of the major “September 3 Military Parade” in 2025. It operated flawlessly throughout the entire event with zero failures or incidents, successfully fulfilling its mission and demonstrating its reliability in demanding, broadcast-grade transmission applications.
During the “Golden Voice Awards” live broadcast, the STUDIO2 once again proved to be a critical technical enabler behind the scenes, thanks to its comprehensive interface support, flexible deployment, system simplification, and cost efficiency—helping deliver a high-quality presentation befitting a national-level ceremony.
