To help users maximize the potential of Science Image products, this guide provides a comprehensive universal tutorial for firmware upgrades across the Studio Series, Flow Series, HD mini, and Vela Series.
This guide is highly versatile, providing applicable methods regardless of your specific model. At the same time, the tutorial is practical, featuring clear step-by-step instructions and detailed visual guides to help you easily get started, complete the firmware upgrade smoothly, and unlock a brand-new experience for your device.
Science Image products support both individual and batch firmware upgrades. The upgrade methods will be introduced in the following order:
1.Upgrading firmware via the web browser in the WebUI (Device Management Console) (applicable to Studio series, Flow series, and HDmini).
2.Upgrading firmware via the device management software Dyna Hub (applicable to Studio series, Flow series, HDmini, and Vela series, and supports batch upgrades).
Detailed Tutorial:
1.WebUI Firmware Upgrade (Applicable to Studio Series, Flow Series, and HDmini. Demonstrated using Studio 2):
① Observe the OLED display of the Studio 2 device and check the IP address displayed on the fourth line of the screen.
② After entering the device’s IP address in the browser, you will access the management interface. Default username: admin. Default password: admin.
③ After entering the Web UI management interface, click the [System] label on the left, then select ‘Open Upgrade Page’ under Firmware Upgrade.
⑤After selecting the upgrade package in the resources, the firmware upload completes in approximately 5 seconds. If the package is valid, the ‘Start Upgrade’ button turns green (invalid packages will show red and remain unclickable, with an on-screen prompt). Proceed by clicking the ‘Start Upgrade’ button to initiate the firmware upgrade.
⑥After clicking, the following progress bar will appear. During the upgrade process, the progress bar may stay at 10% for an extended period. Please wait patiently, as the entire upgrade takes approximately 3 minutes.
⑦After the upgrade is complete, the progress bar will reach 100%, and Studio 2 will automatically restart. You can then log back into the WebUI and check the current firmware version under the ‘Dashboard’ section.
2. Upgrading firmware via Dyna Hub is applicable to the Studio series, Flow series, HDmini, and Vela series. Here, we'll demonstrate the upgrade process using the Studio 2 as an example.
②Locate the Studio 2 device IP from the left-side device list. Dyna Hub supports individual or batch upgrades for products within the same group. (Note: DynaHub does not support upgrading devices from different group simultaneously. The trial version currently only allows operations on the first 4 devices in the list. To batch upgrade more devices, please purchase the official version of Dyna Hub.)
To upgrade one device: Select the target device by directly clicking its IP address in the IP column using your mouse. The following example demonstrates selecting a Studio 2 for upgrade:
To upgrade multiple devices:
ⓐ:Ctrl + Click Method: Hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, click each target device IP in sequence using your mouse. This allows for non-contiguous selection.
ⓑ Shift + Click Method: Click the first device IP in the Studio group, hold down the Shift key, click the last device IP to select all devices in between. This enables contiguous selection. Selection of multiple Studio 2 devices is shown below:
③After selecting the device IP(s), click the Firmware Upgrade icon.
④Add the pre-saved local firmware file in the pop-up firmware selection window, , then click Confirm in the prompt window. The firmware download address is: https://www.science-image.com/support/download
⑤The following interface will appear during the upgrade process. The entire procedure typically takes approximately 5 minutes. If the upgrade exceeds the expected time, a corresponding timeout notification will be displayed. Critical Instructions: Do not leave the upgrade page or switch to other device interfaces during the process. Any interruption may cause the upgrade to fail.
⑥ After the device upgrade is successful, Dyna Hub will display a prompt window as below, and the device will automatically restart.
