02 Power on and Start up

DC 12V Input

Power on with the SCIENCE IMAGE original standard 12V power supply.

Please always use genuine SCIENCEIMAGE power adapters, third party products may cause permanent damage.

POE Power over Ethernet (802.3at)

Power is supplied to the device by connecting a POE (Power over Ethernet) Gigabit/10 Gigabit network switch.

Always use a certified 802.3at with a port power capacity of at least 25W and a Gigabit network switch.

Note: For STUDIO 2, both DC input and POE power supply modes are available. When it starts up, the characters ‘ScienceImage Tech’ appear on the OLED screen, and the power light on the right side starts to light up. The device has been successfully powered up.

05 Device information

Running Time, Net Bandwidth Input HDMI source or SDI source, Video/Audio format.

CPU temperature, Memory usage, Encoder/Decoder status.

Device name, SDK version, Hardware version, Firmware version, MAC address, IP address, Local IP address, Disk space.

06 Network settings

Click [Network] to enter the Network page, where you can set the IP address. There are two modes: DHCP and manual.

DHCP:

In DHCP mode user does not need to set IP address/Subnet Mask/Gateway, just selects Auto, STUDIO 2 will automatically reboot and get a new IP address assigned by the router.

Manual mode:

In manual mode, user can define STUDIO 2 IP address freely.
Enter the correct IP address, Netmask, and gateway, click [Manual] to take effect.

07 Encoding

In NDI encoding mode, the user can set NDI parameters, such as Output format, NDI stream name, Aspect Ratio, Frame Rate, Bit Rate, encoding volume, input source priority, Tally LED Switch, Optical transceiver setting, External audio embedded setting, etc.

Updown Conversion

User can select any format in the support format list, STUDIO 2 outputs to the selected format, If select Auto, the output format is the same as the input.

Input source preference

When both SDI and HDMI signals input, STUDIO 2 outputs the SDI or HDMI signal according to selection priority.

External audio embedding setting

The main audio volume is indicated from video source, the Line IN audio volume indicates External Line-IN.Two audio volume can freely adjust and mix.

Optical Transmitter/Receiver setting

Optical transceiver can be setup as transmitting or receiving mode, user can switch Transmit or Receive status by web Ul or Scroll wheel.

Using Optical transceiver requires 2 devices, which have the optical function(eg: two STUDIO 2, or one STUDIO 2 and one FLOW 2), One is set to Transmitting and the other to receiving.

Both devices must use SCIENCEIMAGE Optica Module T1. The silver pull ring and the purple one are used as pairs. SDI/HDMI UpDownCross conversion and Optical Transmitting can work simultaneously.

Note:The video format of the transmitter and receiver should be the same integer or the decimal with source, while AUTO cannot be selected.

08 Decoding

When STUDIO 2 is in Decoding mode, the user can adjust the volume of the decoded NDI output and select the NDI stream to decode on the Decode page.

09 System settings

The system setting can perform operations such as login password, Restore default parameters, firmware upgrade, restart the device and switch Encoder/Decoder mode.
